Waypoint is a small, independently-run puzzle game. This page explains what information the site collects and how it's used — in plain language, since it's the only kind that's actually true here.
Account information
Creating an account collects your email address, a display name you choose, and a password (stored as a salted hash — we never store or can see your actual password). Your email is used to verify your account and, if you ask us to, to send a challenge notification to a friend on your behalf.
Gameplay data
When you play a course, we record your moves, backtracks, time, and resulting score against your account, so leaderboards and your own stats work. This data is tied to your account and visible to other players on the leaderboard for courses you've played (your display name, not your email).
Cookies
Waypoint uses one functional cookie to keep you signed in between visits. It's required for the site to work and isn't used for tracking or advertising.
Advertising
Waypoint may show ads served by Google AdSense. If so, Google and its partners may use cookies — including the DoubleClick cookie — to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, in order to provide personalized advertising. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't share your email with anyone other than the email-sending service (Amazon SES) used to deliver account verification and challenge emails on our behalf.
Deleting your account
Since this is a small hobby project without a self-service delete flow yet, email waypoint@talkingrockgames.com and we'll remove your account and its data.
